Michael J Sullivan Sr

Michael J. Sullivan, Sr. Peacefully passed away on March 23,2022 at his favorite winter get away in St. Pete’s Beach Florida. Born in South Philly to the late James and Helen (nee: Dougherty) and also has been a resident of West Wildwood since 1974. He took great pride in being the founder of Standard Office Systems which he opened in 1966. He retired in 2001 and his son has continued to own and operate this sales and service business. Mike enjoyed crabbing, fishing and the beach and loved to entertain. His home was always open to friends and family who regularly would visit. He had hands of gold with a heart to match. Fixing beach chairs as well as any other home/mechanical projects was what brought joy as well as being an avid reader. Michael will be remembered as a fun-loving, knowledgeable, charismatic, caring, devoted family man, good friend, and torturer of those close to him. Beloved husband of 57 years to Helen (nee: Giffear) Sullivan. Loving father of Michael J (Donna) Sullivan and Robert Sullivan. Devoted Poppy and best friend to Michael C. Sullivan. Brother of Tina Turner- Sullivan and the late Joseph (Cass) Sullivan, Maryanne (James) Hector. Brother-in-law of William (Paula) Giffear and Robert (late Peg) Giffear. Also, he will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Thursday eve from 7-9pm and again on Friday morning from 8-10am at the Murphy Ruffenach Brian W Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Sts. Funeral Mass to follow 10:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial private. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to the Katie Kirlin Fund, 229 Wolf Sts. Phila., PA 19148.
