Cremation Options

The thought of cremation is a new concept to many of our traditional families. Although cremation has been used as a form of disposition for many years it has not been such a large part of our industry until now. Cremation is the process of reducing the remains of a decedent to its basic form of ash or cremains with the use of intense heat. Although a cremation may be what a family would like ultimately sometimes when I give families the options available with cremation their response is "I did not know that was possible". There are several options associated with cremation disposition. A family can choose to have a "Traditional Cremation" and what that means is that a viewing can take place with a formal service with their loved one physically there and then after services we would transfer the deceased to the crematorium for the cremation process. The next available option would be to have a cremation take place first with a formal service to follow and that may take place at our family Funeral Home, a Church or at a cemetery of the families choosing. The last form of cremation is what we refer to as an immediate cremation and that would be done without any type of service.
