Francis "Franny" Casper

Francis L. Casper “Franny” peacefully, passed away on July 20, 2020. He was born on November 2, 1951 to Bernadette Casper and Thomas Cutter and was raised in South Philadelphia. He proudly served in the Marine Corp and is a Vietnam Veteran. Franny spent much of his time being involved in the traditions of the Philadelphia Mummers Parade which soon became his life. As a proud member and President of the Saturnalians NYA, he encompassed what it means to be a true Mummer. He was inducted into both the Saturnalians Hall of Fame and the Fancy Brigade Hall of Fame. He was ecstatic that this club won the 2020 New Year’s Day parade, making him a champ for eternity. He was instrumental in their success and progress throughout the many years he was involved. Franny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he adored. He the beloved husband of 44 years to Patricia (nee: Liszewski). Devoted father of Jason (Helena) Casper, Katelyn Casper, Shane Casper and the late Kimberly Casper. Dearest Poppy to Joel, Audrey and Kenley Casper. Brother of Nancy (Bob) Brown and Thomas (Debbie) Casper. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family and friends within the Mummers Association and Saturnalians NYA. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Friday morning from 9-12:30am at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Sts. Funeral Home Religious Services 12:30pm. Family requests the use of social distancing and face masks. Burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers his family is asking for memorial donations in his name to be made to the Katie Kirlin Fund, 229 Wolf St. Phila., PA 19148
