Annelva Mooney

April 3, 1940 - September 11, 2021

Annelva Mooney (nee: Kircher), peacefully passed away on September 11, 2021 at the Vitas with her family by her side. Born on April 3, 1940 to the late Paul and Anna (nee: Collins) Kircher and has been a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia. After raising her family, she entered the work force as an Administrative Assistant at Metropolitan Hospital and after its closing worked for the Thomas Jefferson University. Annelva was devoted to her family and was loved by all who knew her. She opened her heart and home to anyone in need and offered an ear to listen and the most spot on words of encouragement and sound advice. She faced many tough times in her life but always did what she needed to do and instilled these same values in her family who will have the strength and courage to continue her legacy. She will be sorely missed by those who truly knew her. Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Mooney. Loving mother to Annemarie (Jim) Ervin, Joseph Mooney and Karen (Christine Rinaldi) Mooney, Dearest grandmother “Gram” to Lee Ann (Eric) Van Sciver, Lauren Richardson, Dennis Richardson, Jayna Mooney, Jack and Christian Mooney-Rinaldi, Jim (Nikki Kuhn) Ervin, Tim (Alysha Lovenduski) Ervin and beloved “GG” of Shane, Hannah, Irelyn, William, Kyle, Jordan, Declan, Maia and Archer. Sister of the late Floss (Tom) Druding, Paul (Franny) Kircher, the late Jim (late Winnie) Kircher, Chris (Mary) Kircher, Ethel (Jack) Leary, Marian (late Anthony) Trivarelli; sister-in-law to Marie Goins and the late Alice (late Jim) Callahan. Also, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and by life long friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Thursday eve from 7-9pm and again on Friday morning from 8-10am at the Murphy Ruffenach Brian W Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Sts. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
