William F. Fermano, Jr.

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

William F. Fermano, Jr., affectionately known as “Bill” to his family and friends, peacefully passed away on November 3, 2026, at Riddle Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on May 22, 1953, to the late William F. and Frances (nee Pino) Fermano, Sr., Bill was a graduate of St. John Neumann High School and later attended trade school.

Bill was a simple, hardworking man who enjoyed the things that brought people together. He was a well-known disc jockey who loved entertaining others and making sure everyone was having a good time. He also enjoyed hosting karaoke nights at local bars and special events, where he could share his love of music and entertainment with others.

In his later years, Bill enjoyed trips to the casino, especially playing poker, as well as spending time at the racetrack. He was a proud old-school Italian gentleman who took great pride in his Italian heritage and the traditions that came with it.

Bill was also a devoted football fan, proudly cheering for the San Francisco 49ers. He was known as a straight shooter who always told it like it was, but he did so with a loving and caring heart. You always knew where you stood with Bill, and his honesty was part of what made him so special.

Above all, Bill treasured his family. His granddaughter was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with her and his son. Those memories will remain a lasting part of his family’s hearts.

He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Marie (nee Thompson) Fermano. Loving father of Daniel and father-in-law of Amanda Hoffman-Fermano. Proud Poppy of Eliza Jane Fermano.

Dear brother-in-law of Margie and Bernie Cox, George and Ronnie Thompson, and the late Mark and Linda Thompson. He will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Bill will be remembered as a good, honest, and straightforward man who enjoyed life in his own way. He loved his family, his Italian roots, good music, football, a game of poker, and a day at the racetrack. Most of all, he appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the people who shared them with him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday evening, November 11, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Murphy Ruffenach Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Streets.

His Funeral Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Kevin Spiers Memorial Scholarship Fund.
