William H Carr

William H. Carr, affectionately known as Bill to family and friends. Peacefully passed away on April 17, 2025, at home with his family by his side. Born on July 26, 1936, to the late William and Catherine (nee: Miller) Carr, and has been a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia. A Bishop Neumann High School graduate, class of '54, and a proud Teamster with Local 107. Bill was a quiet man who truly enjoyed family and sitting on the porch of his North Wildwood home, relaxing and enjoying the scenery around him. Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Dolores (nee: Rio) Carr. Loving father of William Carr, Kathleen (Edward Jr,) Short, Susan (late Joseph) DuMond, and Michael Carr. Dearest Pop to Edward (Carol), Brittany (Rolando), Joseph, John, Mathew, Gianna, and great Pop of Logan, Edward, Emma, and Meena. Brother of Catherine "Pat" D'Alfonso, Dorothy Owens, Rosemarie McLaughlin, Robert Carr, John "Jack" Carr, Barbara Ann Flannery, and the late James Carr. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday morning from 9:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 3rd & Wolf Sts. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am, and burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to Burke Playground, 1919 E Moyamensing Ave Phila., PA 19148.
