Tina M. Shumakeris (Age 61)
Whether you knew her as Tee or Gram, Tina M. Shumakeris was always there for anyone in need. Her passing was sudden and unexpected, and she peacefully departed on March 21, 2026, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 14, 1964, to the late Anthony and Janice (nee Standen) Shumakeris, Tina was a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia. She was a dedicated worker throughout her life, beginning her career with Aramark at Veterans Stadium and later Citizens Bank Park. She most recently worked as a scale house operator for UPS.
Family meant everything to Tina, and there was nothing she wouldn't do to keep them safe and protected. She was the center of attention and the life of every party--a truly selfless woman who was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was offering a ride home or caring for her grandchildren.
In her free time, Tina enjoyed coloring, playing games of Bingo, dancing, and listening to R&B music--especially Luther Van dross. She had a love for collecting oriental fans, unicorns, and fantasy items, and she was a devoted Disney fan. Tina was not your typical mom or grandmother; she was known for her adventurous spirit, including the occasional midnight trip to the casinos in Philadelphia and Atlantic City.
She is the loving mother to Tina Russian, Joann Russian and the late Mark Jude Green. Dearest gram to Ariona, Madison, Kaylee, Ave, Hannah, Tristan, Luca, Ivy, and great gram to Kevin, Autumn, Salvatore, and Savannah. Cherished sister of Janet Hines, Anthony "Tony Shoes Jr" (Debi) Shumakeris, and Lizzy Granato. Sadly, she will be missed by Carl Russian, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Streets. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
Memorial donations in Tina's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
