Thomas K. Kenney

Thomas K. Kenney, suddenly passed away on July 1, 2024 at home with his daughters by his side. Born on February 15,1955 to the late William Kenney and Hannah (Dominic Reale) Donaghy and has been a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia. Tom was a proud United States Army Veteran who served overseas during the Vietnam War. For many years he worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer and later for Penn Maid in the warehouse. Tommy enjoyed the New Years Day parade and had many fond memories of marching with the Strutters NYB, with his family. There was nothing he wouldnt do for his girls and family. Tom enjoyed watching and rooting for the Phillies and Eagles, drinking a nice cup of DD coffee during the day, joking and telling stories with family and friends, playing games of chance and watching the ponies run. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee: Zibulsky), whom he was married to for over 48 years. Loving father and best friend to Colleen and Melissa Kenney. Dearest grandfather to Alyssa, Sabrina, Ava and Richard Valles and the late Brianna Kenney and Nina Vallas; Great grandpop of Nicholas, Dante, and Harley Girini. Brother of William (Desi) Kenney, Patricia (late Jim) Porter, Ron (Carol) Kenney, Rosemarie Joyce, John (Rita ) Joyce and the late Joseph (surviving Kathy) Kenney, Francis Kenney and Ellen (late Len) Click. Sadly, he will also be missed by his many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation with family on Tuesday eve from 5:30-8pm at the Murphy Ruffenach Brian W Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Sts. Funeral services will follow at 8pm with Military Honors and Flag presentation. Family prefers memorial donations in his memory to be made to St. Judes Research Hospital for Children, PO Box 1999 Memphis, TN 38101.
