Mary Ellen Green-Buckley

Mary Ellen Green-Buckley, affectionately known to family as Mary Ellen or Aunt Mare, peacefully passed away on September 30, 2021 at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Born to the late William and Mary Frances (nee: Reid) Green and has been a lifelong resident of Philadelphia. Graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and St. Maria Goretti High School, Class of 71. Mary was a retiree of the Internal Revenue Service where she worked at the offices in Center City. She enjoyed going to the beach, reading novels, cooking and traveling with her husband and friends. Mary was very intelligent and interested in National political issues. Also, Mary will be remembered for her warm caring smile and as a personable, loving, caring, friendly, sweet woman with a good sense of humor who was generous to all those around her. Simply put she loved people and they loved her. Beloved wife and best friend of 35 years to Philip Buckley. Loving sister to Linda (Dave) Zoolalian and Nancy (Pete)Nova and dearest aunt to Christine, David and Alexis Zoolalian. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 6-7 PM at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Home, (3rd & Wolf Streets, Phila., PA 19148). Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM.
