Margaret A. Engler

Margaret A. Engler, affectionately known as "Mom-Mom", passed away peacefully on March 19, 2023. Margaret was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 13, 1946, to the late Edward and Anne (nee: Sweeney) Gundaker. She was predeceased by her brothers Edward J. Gundaker and Thomas J. Gundaker. As a child, she traveled to several countries with her mother and military father, and eventually settled in South Philadelphia. For many years she worked in retail for Toys-R-Us and Unique Industries, however, her most favorite job of all was being a mother and a grandmother. Her most enjoyable moments in life were spent watching her children and grandchildren run around playing games, and she often spoke fondly of those special memories. Margaret enjoyed reading crime fiction novels and watching television shows such as Law & Order SVU, Matlock, and Murder, She Wrote. Settling into a good "whodunit" story was one of her most favorite hobbies. She was loving, caring, selfless, would help anyone with anything and was truly devoted to her family. Margaret will be greatly missed and cherished forever by all who loved her. Beloved mother of Kristine Serad, Danielle Serad, Melissa (Robert) Munoz, Thomas (Marla) Engler and Timothy (Cara) Engler. Dearest Mom-Mom of Eric, Dominique, Kaitlin, Robert, Thomas, Sophia, Christian and Madelyn, and great grandmom of Alivia. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 8-10:10 AM at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home (2239 S 3rd St, Philadelphia, PA 19148). Funeral Mass 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be held at a later date.
