Marcia A. Shorr

Marcia A. Shorr peacefully passed away on August 10, 2026, at Riddle Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born on June 28, 1945, to the late Maurice and Anna (nee: Vespertino) Shorr, Marcia was raised in South Philadelphia and graduated from Southern High School, Class of ’62. For many years, she worked for the City of Philadelphia and later continued her career with ARA Services as an Administrative Assistant.

Marcia was a simple woman who found happiness in the little things in life. She enjoyed settling in with a good novel, making crafts, watching MeTV and The Golden Girls, and never passing up a good game show. Above all else, however, Marcia treasured time spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Family was truly her everything, and the moments shared together were among her greatest joys.

Marcia will be remembered as a loving, caring, and generous woman who carried herself with grace and class. She was devoted and loyal to those she loved and had a special way of making her family feel important and cared for. She never needed anything extravagant to be happy; being surrounded by the people she loved was more than enough.

She is the beloved sister of Claudette Perri and Annette (Joseph) Knob. Proud aunt of Nicole (Anthony) Armando, Jason (Melissa) Perri, Joseph (Heather) Knob, Andrew (Melissa) Knob, and Mark (Marla) Knob; and loving great-aunt of Anthony, Nico, Andrew, Rebecca, Joseph, Abigail, Allison, Mark, and the late Christopher. Marcia will also be sadly missed by her cousins, dear friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday morning, August 15, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:50 AM at Notre Dame De Lourdes Church, 990 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, PA 19081. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, where Marcia will be laid to rest alongside her beloved parents.
