John Boyle
John Boyle, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2026, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital. He was born on January 5, 1956, to the late William and Elizabeth (nee Hatty) Boyle and was a lifelong Philadelphian.
John proudly served the City of Philadelphia for 25 years as a police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department, Class of 243. His dedication to his community and the friendships he made throughout his years of service remained an important part of his life. He will be deeply missed by his Brothers and Sisters of the Philadelphia Police Department.
Above all, John was a devoted family man who treasured the time he spent with the people he loved most. He and his beloved wife, Kathleen (nee DeMarco) Boyle, shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a lifetime of memories, including their yearly excursions and many special family trips to Disney. John especially loved taking his family to Disney, where he could enjoy the magic and happiness of those experiences with the people closest to his heart.
John was also a passionate Philadelphia Flyers fan and could always be counted on to share his love of hockey. Those who knew him will remember his wonderful sense of humor, his loving and caring nature, and his kind heart—a heart so generous that at times he gave more of himself than anyone could ask.
John will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, Kathleen; his daughter, Katie Boyle; and his granddaughter, Katelyn Boyle, who brought him great joy and pride.
He was the brother of Elizabeth (the late James) Delaney, Patricia (Jack) Koslowsky, William (Catherine) Boyle, and the late Anne D’Ulisse. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, and his Brothers and Sisters of the Philadelphia Police Department.
John leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, service, and cherished memories. His family and friends will forever carry his humor, kindness, and generous spirit in their hearts.
Funeral services will be private at this time.
