In Loving Memory of Frank B Frisbie Stewart

Frank B Frisbie Stewart, known to family as “Jim” died peacefully Wednesday, September 2nd, after a multi year struggle with cancer. He lived alone in a small home on the Brandywine Creek in Downingtown, PA with his beloved cat, “Honey Pie”.

Jim was an independent and unconventional spirit who followed his own path through life. He could be charming and exasperating, funny and stubborn, but always unmistakably himself.

He was a savant mechanic, carpenter and electrician who could build and improvise with a skill that seemed to come to him naturally. He was also artistically and musically gifted with instinctive creativity in both fields.

As a young man Jim raced motocross professionally and began his love of motorcycles. Later in life he loved the companionship of the open road riding his Harley Davidson with close friends.

Those who knew Jim well remember his talent, warmth, loyalty and humor. He was fiercely independent and occasionally contrary, but also thoughtful and capable of great affection.

He is survived by two sisters, three nephews, and a niece. Also surviving are three great nephews and a great niece. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 12noon at the Messiah Lutheran Church.
