Ettore E. Pignotti peacefully passed away on January 20, 2026, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, following a courageous and determined battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Born on February 12, 1943, in Marche, Italy, he was the beloved son of the late Giuseppi and Graziosa (nee: Companoni) Pignotti. Ettore later immigrated to the United States, where he proudly made South Philadelphia his home for many years.
A hardworking and devoted provider, Ettore worked as a truck driver in Italy and later in the dry-cleaning industry. He overcame countless health challenges throughout his life, never allowing them to define or limit him. His resilience, determination, and strong will were evident in everything he did.
Known for his "hands of gold," Ettore could fix just about anything. He especially enjoyed working on his cherished 1972 Plymouth, often loading up the car and taking his family on memorable adventures. He patiently taught his sons and nephews how to drive at the lakes, creating moments they will treasure forever.
Ettore was a fiercely loyal and deeply devoted family man who would do anything for those he loved. He was strong-willed and stubborn in the very best way--an old-school Italian husband and father whose life centered around family, tradition, and love.
He was the beloved husband of Maddalena (nee: Rossi) Pignotti; loving father of Joseph (Linda) Pignotti and Robert Pignotti; and proud and devoted Grandpop to Zachary and Nicholas Pignotti. He was the dear brother of Jacqueline (late John) Rossini, Maria (late Frank) Pavine, and the late Stella (Frank) Veloci and Vincent (Adalsi) Pignotti. He is also sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday,January 29, 2026, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Stella Maris Church, 10th & Bigler Streets. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
