Edward R. Myers Sr., affectionately known as Eddie, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at Methodist Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 9, 1941, to the late William and Frances Myers, Eddie was a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and community.
Eddie worked for many years as a proud member of the Longshoremen's Union 1566, where his hard work and camaraderie earned him deep respect. Beyond his profession, he was a devoted member of the Edward O'Malley Men's Club, a brotherhood that brought him countless cherished memories and lifelong friendships.
Above all, family was the heart of Eddie's world. He shared 59 beautiful years with his childhood sweetheart and beloved wife, Agnes (nee Fairman) Myers. Together, they built a legacy of love and devotion. He was the proud father of William (Melissa) Myers and Eddie (Dianne) Myers Jr., and the doting Pop to Shanna, Marisa, Kiley, Bria, and Mallory Myers. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-granddaughter, Vaeda, who brightened his final years.
Eddie treasured simple pleasures--summer days in North Wildwood, games of cards and pool with friends, and the everyday moments that made life meaningful. Thoughtful, generous, and full of heart, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his siblings William Jr., Raymond, and Thomas Myers, and is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will deeply miss his warmth and steady presence.
The Myers family extends heartfelt gratitude to the men of the O'Malley Club for their unwavering support and love. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eddie's memory to the Live Life Like Lois Foundation at livelifelikelois.org.
Eddie's life was defined by love, laughter, and loyalty. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
