Doris Molony

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Doris Molony, affectionately known as Dor, Aunt Dot, or "Triple D's," was someone you were guaranteed to have a good time with the moment you met her. She passed away peacefully on January 13, 21026, at Methodist Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 6, 1954, Doris was the beloved daughter of the late Edward Sr., her best friend, and her mother Doris (nee: Viereck) Brown. A lifelong resident of the 2nd Street community, Doris had an energy that could light up any room she entered. She had an immense love for music--especially Motown--and turned nearly every gathering into a celebration.
Summers were Doris's favorite, often spent at the shore enjoying time with friends, dancing at the Elks in North Wildwood, or crossing the street to Keenan's to listen to her favorite DJ, Spanky. Whether surrounded by friends or family, Doris was usually found at the center of the dance floor, walker and all, keeping up with the beat and the moment. Her walker, which seemed to have more miles on it than most cars, carried her swiftly wherever she wanted to be--and she always knew exactly where that was.
A devoted Froggy Carr fan, Doris especially cherished New Year's Day celebrations at the club. Known proudly as "Triple D's" (Doris the Disabled DJ), she had a way of taking charge of any event and making sure everyone around her was having fun.
Above all else, Doris was a wonderful mother and gram. Family meant everything to her--they were truly her heart and soul. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Molony; a loving mother and best friend to Patrick (Megan) Molony and Katie Molony; and a devoted, proud gram to Patrick, Brian, Talia, Kellan, and Capri.
Doris was also a cherished sister to Cindy (Edward) Rambo, Edward (Barbara) Brown Jr., and Arlene (Francis) Carrelli. She will be deeply missed by her aunts, uncles, brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends whose lives she touched with her joy, laughter, and unforgettable spirit.
Relatives, friends, and members of the North Wildwood Elks Lodge 1896 are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday from 10:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the Murphy Ruffenach Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Streets. Religious services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions in Doris's memory would be greatly appreciated to either the Froggy Carr Club's Scholarship Program or to The Katie Kirlin Fund, 229 Wolf St. Phila., PA 19148
