Denise Grottini

Denise Grottini passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2026, at the age of 55.

Born on July 21, 1970, to the late Ralph and Joan (née Passarella) Grottini, Denise was a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia and was deeply connected to her family, friends, and community.

Denise enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. She loved painting, reading, old movies, animals, and spending time listening, singing, and dancing to her favorite music, especially Elvis and classic doo-wop. She took great pride in her appearance and always enjoyed treating herself to manicures and pedicures. Known for her strong will, quick wit, sense of humor, and loving nature, Denise brought laughter and joy to those around her and will be remembered for her unique spirit and generous heart.

She was the beloved sister of Steven (Geraldine) Grottini and the late Donna Gerace, Robin Grottini, and Janice (Richard) Picano. She was the cherished aunt of Salvatore Gerace, Christine Gerace, Cherylann Lane, Jonathan (Michelle) Picano, Joy Picano, GianLuca Grottini, Marco Grottini, and the proud great-aunt of Michael Thomas Lane, Joseph Michael Picano, Oliver Lane, Jonathan Picano Jr., Jayda Carroll, Aiden Picano, Calirose McCullough, and Ethan Picano. She will also be sadly missed by her many cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Ruffenach Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd and Wolf Streets, Philadelphia. Religious services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held on Thursday at Fernwood Cemetery immediately following services.
