Daniel F. Crann

Daniel F. Crann, Ret. Phila. Police Officer, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024 at the age of 81 with his wife and children by his side. Born on November 14, 1942, Dan, a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia, attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Elementary School and Bishop Neumann High School. For 40 years, he served the City of Philadelphia as a Police Officer in the 19th District. Dan loved his job but what he truly enjoyed the most was fishing with his family and friends during the summer and always making sure to save one day of his vacation to be on the beach with his girls. Dan liked to go once a year to the Men of Malvern Retreat House, along with family and friends. He had a very special place in his heart for his pets, especially his lab "Rosie" who predeceased him. HIs family meant the world to him and the time he spent with them created many fond and loving memories. Dan will forever be remembered as a simple man of very few words and a gentle giant who loved and devoted his life to his family. Dan was the beloved husband of 60 years to Sally (nee: Massey) Crann. Loving father to Tom (Maria) Crann, Barbara (late Steven) Zanaras, Tim (Deirdre) Crann, Dan (Jill) Crann and Sallyanne (Will) Williams. Proud doting Pop Pop to Sammi, Timmy, Andrew, Nicholas, Ethan, Caroline, William, Camerin "his buddy", and Kendall. Loving brother of Ann Ciminera and the late Catherine Biondo. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Relatives, friends, Men of Malvern and Brothers and Sisters of the Philadelphia Police Department FOP Lodge #5 are invited to gather Monday, March 18, 2024 from 9:30 - 10:50 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 3rd & Wolf Sts. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM followed by a private burial. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 3rd & Wolf Sts. Philadelphia, PA 19148
