Chikaodinaka Nwankpa Obituary (1962

Dr. Chikaodinaka Nwankpa passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on December 13, 1962, in Owerri, Nigeria to Dr. Sonde Nwankpa and Mrs. Mercy Nwankpa. He was one of four children. He is survived by his mother, Mercy and his siblings, Amadi Nwankpa, Mrs. Ijeoma (Ijay) Nkele, and Ngozi Nwankpa. At the age of 1, Chikaodinaka came over to the United States, where he would complete grade school and develop a love for sports, mainly football. At the age of 12, he would return home to Nigeria, where he completed high school. After high school, he traveled to Russia for his undergraduate degree and masters degree in Engineering. Chikaodinaka had a never-ending love for education, so he decided to travel to America and receive his Ph.D. at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He went on to pursue a career as a professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He took great pride in educating his students and helping them to achieve their goals. In his spare time, Chikaodinaka could be found reading some science fiction or high fantasy novels. He enjoyed joking around and entertaining himself with some stand-up comedy. He had a love for cars and found relaxation in fine dining. He will be dearly missed by his nephews, Nkele Nkele and Nkem Nkele, his in-laws, and his extended family.
