Cathaline Elaine Monaghan Obituary (1939

Cathaline E. Monaghan Of Grays Ferry, lovingly known as Elaine to family and friends, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2025, in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side. She was born on July 30, 1939, to the late Catherine Grego (Nee-Zemaitis). A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, she most recently resided in Sicklerville, NJ. Elaine retired from St. Agnes Hospital, where she worked as a receptionist at the front desk for many years. After her retirement, she enjoyed working at ShopRite in Sicklerville, where her colleagues affectionately knew her as "Ms. Cathy." In her earlier years, Elaine was actively involved in her parish, St. Aloysius Church, where she coached the track team and assisted with community events. One of her greatest joys was shopping, particularly with her beloved granddaughters. A vibrant, energetic, and loving woman, Elaine was dedicated to her family. Her warm presence could illuminate any room she entered, and she treasured the memories made during family trips to Wildwood and gatherings with loved ones. Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Patrick J. Monaghan and a loving mother to Kathleen (John) Fulton and Keith Monaghan. Proud Mom-Mom to Tara Fulton (fiance James Rodia), and Kiley Fulton. She was also the sister of Diana DeGregorio (the late Camie), and aunt to Jackie DeGregorio. Elaine will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on June 4th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Murphy Ruffenach Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, located at 3rd and Wolf Streets. Funeral services will begin at 8:00 PM, and burial will be private.
