Brian J. Eckert

Brian J. Eckert suddenly passed away on June 22, 2026, at Magee Rehabilitation. Born on September 1, 1983, he was the beloved son of Maria (née Lauriello) Humphreys and stepson of David Humphreys, and the son of the late Christopher Eckert.

A lifelong resident of South Philadelphia and a graduate of Overbrook School for the Blind, Class of 2003, Brian was a devoted Phillies and Eagles fan who enjoyed his Monday morning sports wrap-up conversations. He also loved predicting the weather, spending time on Facebook, and listening to rock 'n' roll music.

Brian was a familiar face throughout his neighborhood, especially along Passyunk Avenue, where he often went to purchase his daily lottery tickets. His family was his world, and they will deeply miss him.

Brian will be remembered for being loving, caring, generous, funny, witty, and fiercely loyal to his family. He was the dearest nephew of Patricia and Louis Lauriello and is also survived by cousins and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his gathering on Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, at 9th and Watkins Streets. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
