Bernadette C. Lennon

Bernadette C. Lennon, peacefully passed away on November 5, 2022 at Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township, NJ. Born on September 9, 1934 to the late Angelo and Margaret (nee: Mackin) Masci and has been a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia. She was a longtime advocate for members of the Disability Community working for and with numerous organizations and most recently as board member of Vision for Equality. While attending OLMC grade school she met the love her life Joseph to whom she married and went on to raise their family. Bernadette loved to spend her summers at the Jersey Shore, taking trips to Ireland to reconnect with family, attending many shows at the Walnut Street Theater with her best friends (Cassie, Joan and Lorraine) and trips to the Poconos with the Merry Makers, NYB. She was known as a caring, loving, unselfish person who was dedicated to her family, always putting them first and there was a very special place in her heart for the Bryson family and she in theirs. Beloved wife of 67 years to her best friend and love of her life Joseph Lennon, Sr. Loving mother of Joseph F. Lennon, Jr., David (Maureen) Lennon and the late Christopher Lennon. Dearest grandmom of Kelliann (Earl) Fowler, Meghan (Mike), Colin (Amy), Anna, Michael and the late Tiffany Lennon and great grandmom of 5. Sister of the late Margaret McCann. Aunt of Angela McCann and Patty McCann and the late Colleen Doyle and Anthony McCann. She will be sadly missed by her cousins and many good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Monday, November 14, 2022 from 8-10:30 AM at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home (3rd & Wolf Streets). Funeral Mass 11 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial to follow in SS: Peter and Paul Cemetery.
