Barbara M. Dussell, lovingly known as "Barb" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 28, 1950, to the late Walter and Leona Prusacki (née Moskal), Barbara was a proud lifelong resident of South Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus School and St. Maria Goretti High School, Class of 1968.
For many years, Barbara worked at Pennsport Physical Therapy, where she enjoyed caring for and interacting with patients and visitors. Her warm personality, kindness, and genuine concern for others made lasting impressions on everyone she met.
Above all else, Barbara's greatest joy in life was her family. Her grandchildren were the center of her world, and she never missed an opportunity to cheer them on at a sporting event, attend a concert, or celebrate their accomplishments. Whether it was a game, recital, or special milestone, Barbara was always there with love, encouragement, and pride.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially on trips to the casino. She will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering devotion to those she loved, and her willingness to help anyone in need. No one ever left her home empty-handed, as she always found a way to make others feel welcomed, cared for, and loved.
She was the beloved wife of the late James Dussell, Jr. and the loving mother of James (Ivana) Dussell, David (Ginny) Dussell, and Stacy (Stanley) Makarewicz. She was the proud and devoted Grandmom of Alex, Kailyn, Kasey, Nicholas, Tyler, Addison, and Aubrey, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
Barbara was the dear sister of Walter (Donna) Prusacki and will also be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Murphy Ruffenach Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd and Wolf Streets, Philadelphia. Religious Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
