Anthony J DeLuca, Sr.

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Anthony J. DeLuca Sr., whether you called him Anthony, Big Ant, or Pop, you knew you could depend on him. He quietly and peacefully passed away on April 26, 2025, at AtlantiCare Hospital in Atlantic City with his family by his side. Born on May 25, 1949, to the late Jerry and Rose (nee: Ferrara) DeLuca, and was a graduate of Bishop Neumann High School, class of '67. Although he was raised in South Philadelphia, he has lived in New Jersey since 1995. Anthony was a retiree of the City of Philadelphia, where he worked as a carpenter. He had a great singing voice and loved singing for family, many Sinatra classics. The outdoors were a passion of his and he never missed an opportunity to go hunting, fishing, crabbing or spending a night playing cards with his children and family. Family meant the world to him, and his grandchildren were his heart. Holidays always were important to him, and he enjoyed decorating and being with his family. A traditional old school father and pop who told it like it was in his dry funny way, and he also was a protector of his family. Beloved husband to the late Sylvia (nee: Rosati) DeLuca. Loving father of Anthony (fiancee Nicole Carroll) DeLucca Jr., Christopher (Dina) DeLuca, Sylvia DeLuca, Linda DeLuca and the late Andrew DeLuca. Proud doting Pop of Andrew, Anthony, John, Jake, Viviana, Velia, Andrew, Jocelyn, Emma, Chloe, Andrew and great pop by Oliver. Dearest brother of Jerry (late Dolores) DeLuca and brother-in-law Andrew Rosati. Sadly, his nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends will miss him. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 10-11:45 am at Our Lady of Hope Parish, 701 Little Gloucester Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012. His Funeral Mass will begin at 12 noon, and entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum alongside his beloved late wife Sylvia. Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
