Zelda M. Sims

July 14, 1939 - November 28, 2021

Zelda M. Sims, lovingly known to all as “Flirty”, entered into the arms of the Lord peacefully on November 28,2021 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Born on July 14, 1939 to the late Homer and Mary Alice (nee: Cundiff) Jenkins in the town of Jackson, Kentucky. She moved her to Philadelphia in 1962 with her childhood sweetheart, John E. Wilson to start their family. After his tragic passing she met and married the late Sprague J. Sims. She was a special lady who loved to take care of those in need, even working as a care giver to many of those same people. Zelda was dedicated to her parish family and enjoyed taking trips back home to Kentucky to visit with family. During the summer months her and her husband loved to take day trips to the Wildwoods with their children. Free time was spent playing pinochle, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, doing jigsaw puzzles and sitting and laughing with her family. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, devoted, strong willed mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Beloved mother of Fred (Cheryl Johnson) Wilson, Mary (Nicholas) Paonessa and the late Charles (Joyce) Wilson. Dearest nan to Dakota Williams, Megan Wilson, Rebecca Wislon, Justin Gindlesperger, Mandy Gindlesperger and great nan of Jeremiah, Kaiden, Freya, Liam and by her two special little boys Trent and Tyler Sims. Sister to Iona Cumer, Ray Jenkins and was preceded in death by 6 of her siblings. Also, she will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and one special friend Mike Matthews. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Saturday morning from 10-11am at the Church of Philadelphia, 1629 Snyder Ave. Phila., PA 19145. Funeral Services will begin 11am. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery. In keeping with her love for her Church Family, donations in her memory can be made to the above-mentioned Church.
