William Anthony Dolan, affectionately known as Bill to family and friends passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022 at the Thomas Jefferson Hospital. Born on October 8, 1952 in Phoenixville, PA to the late Vincent and Margaret (nee: Burke) Dolan and was born into a military family that moved around the state and eventually settled in South Philadelphia. Bill was a retiree of the IRS as a Revenue Officer for over 35 years. He was a proud member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Holy Name Society. Bill was an avid book reader of Sci-Fi, Star Trek, comic books and watching Sci-fi movies, British movies, PBS and comedies. He enjoyed baking cookies for the holidays and grilling/cooking for his family. He was a gentle giant who was funny, caring, loving, highly devoted to his family and enjoyed trips to the Jersey shore, walking the boardwalk and spending precious time with his family was all that mattered to him. Beloved husband of 44 years and Best Friend to Mary Ann (nee: Bader) Dolan. Loving Dad of Joanne (Joseph) Miller and Lorianne (Chuck) O’Neal. Dearest Pop and Pop Pop to Gabriel, Trent, Juliette, Jocelyn and Joseph “Joey” Jr. Brother of Rosemarie Skulrak and Joseph Dolan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Preceded by his furbabies Deanna Troy “Nana” and Goldie his rescue pets. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Tuesday evening April 19, 2022 from 7-9 PM and again on Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022 from 8 to 10 AM at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home (3rd & Wolf Streets). Funeral Mass 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be private. In his memory donations may be made to either Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Senior Citizens Program, 2317 S. 3rd St., Phila., PA 19148 or Paws Adoption Center, 100 N. 2nd St., Phila., PA 19106.
