Thomas M. Tustin

June 30, 1955 - January 23, 2021

Thomas M. Tustin, peacefully passed away on January 23, 2021 at the Penna Hospital. Born on June 30, 1955 to the late Albert and Grace (nee: Gabrielle) Tustin and has been a life long resident of South Philadelphia. Tom graduated from St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi Elementary School and later from St. John Neuman High School, Class of 72. He worked as a Philadelphia Police Officer for many years and was well respected within the police department. Thomas had a heart of gold that was bigger than his stature, never turning his back on anyone in need especially within his family. He’ll be remembered as a loving, caring, kind, witty, generous and devoted family man. Also, Thomas was active in Sacred Heart of Jesus School Home and School where his children attended grade school. He is the beloved husband and best friend to the love of his life Margaret “Peggy” (nee: Warren). Loving father to Jennifer (Chris) Mayo, Matthew (Meghan) Tustin Sr., Jessica (Steven McGinley) Tustin, Fred Hicks and Christian Hicks. Dearest and proud “Poppy T” of Kaylyn Mayo, Jacob Mayo, Matthew Tustin Jr, Charles Tustin, Theodore Tustin and Kennedy McGinley. Brother of Marie (Mary Anne Mundis) Summers, Mark (Josie) Tustin, Paula (Fred) Welsh, Kathee (Tony) Naccarato and the late George (Debbie) Tustin and Linda (Mickey) Rodden. Also, he is survived by many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Relatives friends and members of the Phila Police Department, FOP lodge #5 are invited to his visitation Tuesday evening from 6:30-9pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9-10am at the Murphy Ruffenach Brian W Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Sts. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 3rd & Reed Sts. Burial will follow in SS: Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Delaware Co., PA.
