Theresa D. Donegan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Theresa D. Donegan (nee: Bauer), daughter of the late George and Theresa (nee: Kelly) Bauer passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, July 10,2022, at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Washington Township, NJ. Beloved wife of the late John G. Donegan, and loving mother of John, Sarah and Maryellen Donegan. Dearest sister of Doris (late Ed) McMullen, Grace (Bob) Hershman, Kathy (Bruce) Gansert and Eileen (Frank) Shelby. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Theresa, Terry to her family and friends, was born in South Philadelphia where she attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Elementary School, and graduated with honors from Alvernia Business College in 1976. Terry was a Certified Nurse Assistant for the Little Sisters of the Poor and was a certified Tumor Registrar for the American Cancer Society. Terry and her devoted husband John moved to the Jersey shore where they raised their three children. Terry loved to cook for her children and their friends where she would welcome to their home after soccer practices, recitals, and school events. Her home was open to all. Terry’s greatest asset was her compassionate, caring and ebullient nature. Her children were her life. All who knew her mention her generosity and infectious laugh. She brought a smile to everyone’s face and everyone who knew her loved her. Terry will return to her South Philadelphia home and relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Friday evening from 7-9 PM and Saturday from 8-10:15 AM at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 2239 S. 3rd Street (3rd & Wolf Streets), Philadelphia, PA 19148. Funeral Mass 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be held in Fernwood Cemetery. In her memory donations may be made to Presbyterian Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Nursing, in gratitude for their excellent care during Terry’s 6 month COVID hospitalization.
