Rita "Dolly" Cerrato

Rita G. Cerrato (nee: Coppola) Affectionately known to family as Dolly. Passed away peacefully on November 5, 2020 at her home with her best friend and husband at her side. Born in South Philadelphia on December 18, 1936 to the late Louis, Sr. and Betty (nee: DelCorpo) Coppola. Where she attended Hallahan High School and was married to her husband, Michael. She has since lived in the Roxborough area of the city. A retiree of the Federal Government where she worked as an administrator in sever-al different capacities. Dolly was very active in the choir at St. Lucy Church where she enjoyed sharing her talent of singing with those around her. Dolly enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and New York and looked forward to spending time with her parish family and friends from the St. Lucy Senior Club. Where she often would sit with Father Sabatini talking along the ride. Rita was a warm loving lady who had a smile that would light up a room. She was a supportive, generous, kind, caring and loving woman with a heart of gold. Rita was the beloved wife of 64 years to Michael. Loving mother to Michelle (George) Popp and Thomas (Liz) Cerrato. Dearest Mommom “Hi” of Michael, Joshua and Alex. Sister to Louis “Buddy” Coppola Jr. and the late Ronald Coppola. Dolly will greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Tuesday morning, November 10, at Holy Family Church (234 Hermitage Street Phila., PA 19127) from 9:30-10:50am. Dolly’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am. Burial will be privately held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Thursday morning. Donations in her memory can be made to the above-mentioned Church.
