Ramon Diaz-Lopez
June 5, 1943 - February 18, 2021
Ramon Diaz-Lopez, a man of remarkable kindness. At 77 years of age, he passed away on February 18, 2021, at his home in Philadelphia, PA. Ramon will genuinely be missed by his family and loved ones. He is the beloved son of the late Jesus Diaz and Celestina Lopez. He is the loving brother to Maria (Jose) Tellado, Jesus Diaz-Lopez, Enrigue Diaz-Lopez, Pedro Diaz-Lopez, Manuel Diaz-Lopez, Sylvia Diaz-Lopez, and Crimida (late Carmelo) Bosque. Ramon will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Remarkable kindness. He impacted many lives with his presence, generosity, and love. For example, he would use his vehicle to transport loved ones to ensure their basic needs were met and faithfully showing up for his siblings. He would expose young people to fun outside of their neighborhoods—trips to swimming pools, the circus, amusement, and city parks. He was known as the “McDonald Man”, for packing as many kids as he could into his Station Wagon for the regular trips to McDonald's. And notably, he was known to give back and provide a helping hand to low-income families to have access to essential home appliances like washers, dryers, and refrigerators, to name a few. Fathering Spirit. Consistent. Protector. Dependable. Teacher. Unconditional love. He loved the family of Charlene and her two children Hector and Charlena, as if they were his own children. He was known to them as Miguel. His remarkable kindness and fathering spirit laid a strong foundation for them to flourish in life, providing a real-life telescope for them to see beyond what was in front of them; from an environment of brokenness to a life of wholeness. For this, they are marked by the gift of wisdom and presence that Ramon freely gave. Charlene describes him as her “guardian angel” and the father she never had. Hector describes him as his hero, showing up at the perfect time to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Charlena describes him as a grandfather, giving her the best childhood any kid could hope for. His legacy carries on beyond his years here on earth through photos, memories and stories passed down to the next generation. May we all be inspired to sacrificially show up for others, demonstrating Remarkable Kindness to those that cross our path while we still have time. Until we meet again, Family and Loved Ones His burial services will be held at Greenmount Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Graveside services will be held on March 10, 2021 10am at Greenmount Cemetery. Burial will follow.
