Nicholas M. “Junior” Del Ciotto, Jr., affectionately known as “Poppy.” Born on May 31, 1932 to the late Nicola and Anna (nee Monteferrante). He entered into eternal rest on September 1, 2021. A lifelong resident of South Philadelphia, who enjoyed spending much of his time at the shore. He was a proud Korean War Army Veteran. A member of Carpenter’s Local 1050/158 Union for 65 years. He was an artist who enjoyed woodworking, drawing, and painting. He spent time fresh water fishing with his son, tending to his garden and enjoyed taking care of animals. We will miss his famous crabs and spaghetti. A lifelong fan of the Eagles and Flyers. He will be remembered for being a loving grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a gentle soul with hands of gold who could fix anything. Most of all, he will be remembered for loving and taking care of his family. Beloved husband of the late Catherine “Vickie” (nee: Long). Loving father of Cathy Del Ciotto, Nicky (Valerie) Del Ciotto, Linda (Mark) Fee and Joy (Joe) Furgiuele. Dearest Poppy of Christopher (Carly) Fee, Jessica (Patrick) Fitzmaurice, Michael (Rian) Fee, Joseph Nicholas Furgiuele, Ava Nicole Furgiuele and Victoria (Dan) Hinds. Great-Grandfather of Patrick, Anderson, Benjamin, Finnegan and Gavin. Brother of Ralph (Alberta) Del Ciotto and the late Michael, Rocco, Thomas, Anthony, Lena, Jeri, Marie and Lucy. Also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday evening, September 8, 2021 from 7-9 pm and again on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 8-9:45 am at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home (3rd and Wolf Streets). Funeral Mass 10:30 am in St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, 1718 S. 9th Street, Phila., PA 19148. Burial will be held in SS: Peter and Paul Cemetery. In his memory donations may be made to Andy’s Army, a charity close to his heart, c/o The Children’s Hospital Foundation, PO Box 40930, Philadelphia, PA 19107 or to St Nicholas of Tolentine Church.
