Maureen Scott

August 19, 1954 - December 16, 2021

Maureen E Scott, age 67, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2021 at the Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 19,1954 to the late Charles “Chick” and Emma (nee: Richards) Jones Sr. and has been a life long resident of South Philadelphia. Graduated from St. Maria Goretti High School, Class of ’73 and attended Community College of Philadelphia as well as Bartending School. Maureen worked in many bars throughout the neighborhood and always was in tune to her customer’s needs. She had a warm, caring smile and was a straight shooter, always saying,” don’t get my Irish Up!!” She enjoyed traveling with her friends and taking trips down the Jersey Shore with her family. Holidays were a special time for her and sharing family traditions especially on St. Patrick’s Day and New Years Day. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was what really mattered to her most. Beloved mother and best friend to Prudence Scott and Megan (Stephen) Howe. Loving mom mom of Amanda (fiancée Edward Daly), Andrew (Courtney Wagner), Robert DiTomaso, Michael Showers and great mom mom of Luna Gail and Jaxon Stephen Scott. Brother of Charles Jones Jr. and the late Stephen Jones. She will also be sadly missed by her cousins, Vincent Jacobs, Francie Makara, Maggie Devine and by her friends especially, Carlos Guzman, Carol McKenna, Pat Leonard and Maureen Mansey. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday eve from 6-8:30pm at the Murphy Ruffenach Brian W Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Sts. Funeral Home Religious Services 8:30pm. Burial private. Donations in her memory can be made assist with final expenses.
