Mary Martha Conaway passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 27, 1952 to the late Harry and Irma (nee: Graham) Conaway and has been a life long resident of South Philadelphia. She worked painting figurines for model train villages. Mary was very artistic and loved to paint and sketch. She loved her fur babies with all her heart. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was smart, creative, funny, loving, caring, compassionate and patient. She was also very strong willed and opinionated. Beside her fur babies, she will be dearly missed by her brothers, Harry “Bud” Conaway, Michael Conaway, her sister-in-Law, Patrice Conaway and the late Judie Ann Conaway. She was the devoted aunt of Danielle (Fiancé Fred Jordan) Conaway and Heather Ann Conaway. She has been reunited with her loving companion, the late Ian Pyper. She is also survived by her cousins, “nieces and nephews”, friends and will be forever missed by her best friend of 65 years, Nancy McNulty who was more like a sister to her. Relatives and friends are invited to gather Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9-10:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 3rd & Wolf Streets, Philadelphia, PA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will be private. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Paws Animal Welfare Society, Old City Adoption Center, 100 N.
