Joseph "Nut" Muller

Joseph F. Muller “Nut” passed away suddenly on January 16, 2022 with his wife by his side. Born on July 31, 1955 to the late James Sr. and Helen Muller (nee: Hayn), he was a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia and worked as a longshoreman with ILA Local 1291. Joe was a member of the Jokers N.Y.A, a former club trustee and recently celebrated his 50th anniversary with the club. He loved spending time at the Jersey shore, going fishing and crabbing with his family and friends and watching sunsets in the luncheonette in Wildwood. He was a bartender at Moore’s Inlet where he met and married the love of his life, Peggy. Joe was known for his warm smile and his easy going nature. He was a loving, caring person and the beloved husband and best friend of 40 years to Peggy Muller (nee: Sproul). Loving brother of James F. (Eleanor) Muller, Jr., Mary Jean (the late Russell) Peruso, Pat (Timmy) Breckin, Katie Hudrick, Carolyn (Tommy) Ambrose and the late Helen (Jerry Sr.) Conroy, Thomas Muller and Baby Michael Muller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends. Relatives, friends and members of the Jokers NYA are invited to his viewing Friday eve 6-9PM and again on Saturday 8-9:30 AM at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, (3rd & Wolf Streets) Funeral Mass 10 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 2319 S. 3rd Street, Phila., PA 19148. Burial SS: Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In Joe’s memory donations may be made to the above-named church or the David Nelson Memorial Scholarship Fund, 707 S. Columbus Blvd., Phila., PA 19147.
