Dolores White
June 26, 1950 - April 16, 2022
Dolores Russell White was the fourth child of line born to the late Ernest and Dorothy Russell. She was the spunkiest of all and lives up to that reputation throughout her life. Dolores received her education in the Philadelphia Public School System. She accepted Christ as a young adult and always kept the faith. Dolores had a knack for artwork, which she was pretty good at. She also studied and practiced karate in her younger years and became quite an expert, which she was very proud of. Dolores held several jobs throughout the Philadelphia region. Her favorite was a Municipal Guard. She held this position for nearly 20 years at the City’s Water Department (29th & Cambria Streets). This was her domain; if you knew her, you did not cross her when it came to her job. Although she was small in stature, she was very dominating, especially when it came to her job. She retired????? Dolores loved music (oldies), old TV shows and Western classics. She loved being around people. She loved going places, from the supermarket to the casino to going out to eat. Then in 2018 tragedy struck, Dolores lost the love of her life, Lafayette C. White on May 17, 2018. They were married for 38 years before his untimely death. She had been pinning for him ever since that day; now they are back together again. Dolores leaves to cherish her memory: her sister and caregiver, Doris Ramseur; Big Sis, Ernestine Russell; brother, Steven Russell; special nephew, Ronald Russell; one aunt, Bertha Wilson; sisters and brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 9:30 to 11 AM at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 2237-41 S. 3rd Street, Phila., PA 19148.
