Christine F. Ostopoff-Torres

December 31, 1951 - July 25, 2020

Christine Ostopoff- Torres Suddenly passed away on July 25, 2020 at the Methodist Hospital with her husband by her side. Chris was born on December 31, 1951 to Lillian (nee: Krachuuk) and Frank "Butch" Ostopoff and was raised in South Philadelphia and was a graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School. After her graduation she took a job working for the Social Security Administration Department. Beloved wife of Ivan A. Torres-Robles, affectionately known as “Nappie” who was her high school sweetheart. Together they enjoyed roller skating at the “Chez-Vous” Roller Rink, which was located at 69th Street, Dancing on American Bandstand, horse back riding and in their later years motorcycling on their Harley Davidson throughout the United States. They traveled extensively even though Christine didn’t like airplanes. Holidays were a favorite time that was spent with family and also, she loved spending time in Wildwood and Atlantic City, New Jersey. She spent a lot of her free time working on writing grants to assist with obtaining funds for the spading of the neighborhood cats. Chris was a proud mother to many fur animals throughout her life. She will be sadly missed by her Mother in Law, Eleanor Robles; sister in law, Nereida “Nettie” (Matt Rivera) Torres; brother in law, Elvis (Haydee) Gonzales; niece, Haydee Perez-Fortunato; nephew, Israel (Marilyn) Torres and by her cousins, and her extended South Philly and South Jersey Families and many dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Thursday eve from 6-8:30pm at the Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home, 2239 S 3rd St. Phila., PA 19148. Funeral Home Religious Services 8:30pm. Burial will follow at a later date in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorial donations in her name can be made to the feline spading program to nurture cat’s c/o Queens Village Animal Hospital, 323 Bainbridge Street Philadelphia, PA 19147 which she was proud to be involved with. Family requests the use of Face masks and social distancing.
