Carmen Alicea, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022 at home with her family by her side. Born on November 16, 1953 to the late Jose Manuel Laros and Marcelina Crespo Rivera and was raised in Lares, Puerto Rico. At the age of 18 she moved to the US and settled in South Philadelphia. She was a former employee of Keller Charles in a distribution center. Carmen had an uplifting voice and loved to sing around the house, she was a traditional family woman who loved to clean, cook and entertain everyone who would stop in. She was devoted to her family, had a warm smile, and was known as being very sarcastic and a straight shooter. Loving mother of Tamara Acevedo and devoted grandmother of Luis “Cito”, Angel “Geo”, Ali “Nana” and David “Macho”. Brother of Jose Tellado, Rubin Alicea, Alejandro Alicea, Jose Manuel Alicea, Sonia Correa, Lucy Alicea, Carmen Rosa Alicea, twin sister Roadlia Escobales, Maribel Alicea and the late Amparo Alicea. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Monday morning, February 7,2022 from 11-12:30pm at the Murphy Ruffenach Brian W Donnelly Funeral Home, 3rd & Wolf Sts. Funeral Home Religious Services will begin at 12:30pm. Burial Greenmount Cemetery.
