Andy B Sealy

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Andrea B. Sealy, Age 44, lovingly known as Andy to family and friends. Peacefully passed away on August 4, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of friends and family. Since 2017 she has bravely fought a courageous battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Andy will be remembered for the vibrant selfless person that she was. As she moved through her illness she became an advocate for "dying with dignity" and even lobbied for a bill to help others in similar situations. She wore many different hats in life but always remained a great friend to all she met. Andy showed others how to cope with breast cancer. She created and hosted a podcast with her dear friend that was called" Making the Breast of it" which was nationally received for its positive works and the comfort it brought to others facing this terrible disease. She always remained optimistic and even when she was faced with losing her breast she had a party, called "TaTa to my TaTas!" throughout her illness Andy never let the disease define who she was, everything she did had a certain decorum and relentlessly positive goal. She was a spokeswoman for Penn Medicine and was the face on many of their billboards, and as an advocate, she was on segments on Good Morning America and Fox 29 News to speak of healthcare issues. Andy graduated from Academy Park High School and received a masters degree at Penn State University. She had so many friends that she met within the entertainment and Bar industry and even was a manager at McFaddens Bar and Restaurant. Lastly, Andy worked as a district representative for the Southern Wine and Spirits Company and also represented for a local POS company. She enjoyed spending time on the beach in Margate socializing with her friends and taking trips throughout the world. She was a true Philadelphian and an avid Phillies and Eagles sports fan; she even had the coordinates of the link and citizens bank tattooed on her arm. Her personality was magnetic, and people simply gravitated to her. Always being the center of a room or the life of a party, Andy did everything big. She called it as it was and never held back from sharing her thoughts and comments. Even though she was a kind, humble, and gracious lady. Her smile could light up any sad day and her optimistic spirit was how she faced every day. She is the beloved daughter of John and Kathi Sealy, and Fur Mom to Dash and the late Dink. Sadly, she will be missed by her siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and by all her dear friends who remained by her side through her illness. Andy's final wish was to celebrate her and all her accomplishments. So, in keeping with this last request a grand celebration of her life will soon be announced. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC).
