Andrew F. Dorner, Sr., passed away on December 1, 2021 at home. Born on February 24, 1943 to the late John and Ella (nee: Shannon) Dorner and was raised in South Philadelphia and recently resided in Essington, PA. He was a proud checker with Local Union 1242 where he worked for many years. He enjoyed shooting English darts and played in many leagues, was an avid hunter and fisherman and he also traveled throughout the world. Andrew will be remembered as a stern, strict loving father who wanted his children to succeed in life. Beloved father of Andrew Dorner, Jr., Jimmy (Terry) Dorner, Carolyn Henderson and the late Michael Dorner. Proud grandfather to 12 and great grandfather to 11. Brother of Delores Dorner and the late Charles, James, Jimmy, Doris and Patsy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Friday morning from 8-9:40 AM at Murphy Ruffenach, Brian W. Donnelly Funeral Home (3rd & Wolf Streets). Funeral Mass 10 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial SS: Peter and Paul Cemetery.
